4 Differences between Flat Cable and Round Cable
Armoured cable is the name given to any electrical cable which is built with a protective layer of aluminium or steel wire covering for LT and HT Cables. The armour plate covering is under the cable sheath to ensure the driver and separate the layers. Materials used in armours are either metallic or non-magnetic aluminium, steel wire etc.
The armour is used for mechanical protection against any damages and can be used as Earth Continuity Conductors. Flat armoured cable or round armoured cable is used for 3 core or 4 core cables, while aluminium armouring is used for single-core cable.
The major differences between flat and round cables are as follows:
>> Usage: Round and flat armoured cables exceed each other in most of the settings. Round armoured cables are utilized in most modern applications from automated and general kinds of assembling to renewable energy source. Flat cables can offer an incredible solution for providing force and information to machines inside the semiconductor and common aircrafts markets, among others.

Round cables have the ability to withstand all of the mechanical stress because of their characteristic capacity to move in different axes at once. Unlike round cables, flat cables are best suited for rolling flex as its movement is in just one linear axis.

>> Space: According to the nature of the shape of the cables, flat cables usually occupies half of the space as compared to the round cables.
